Our Story
End of the Road Lodge sits where the dust of the main street gives way to something slower. Young is a town that doesn't rush, and neither do we. Our lodge was born from a simple idea: that the best kind of escape isn't somewhere exotic — it's somewhere honest.
Whether you're passing through the Riverina on the way somewhere further, or you've come specifically to wander the vineyard trails and orchard roads that define this corner of New South Wales, we offer a base that feels like it belongs here.

Young and the surrounding Riverina region boast over 30 wineries, from boutique cellar doors to established family vineyards producing award-winning Shiraz and Chardonnay.
Apple and stonefruit country. In season, the district's orchards are a highlight — picking your own fruit along tree-lined roads is a quintessential Riverina experience.
Young's historic main street is lined with beautifully preserved sandstone buildings from the 1800s. The Young Historical Society runs guided walks that bring the town's past to life.
With minimal light pollution and clear autumn skies, Young is a surprising spot for stargazing. The local astronomy group hosts seasonal viewing nights at the observatory.

We stopped in Young for one night and ended up extending to two. The room was beautiful, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast suggestion list they left us led us to the best bakery in the district.
